Abdul Latif Nawab -sometimes spelled Nawab Abdool Luteef (1828-1893) from a Muslim family in Faridpur, Bangladesh. Got western education as his father felt the importance under British rule. He started career as a teacher in Dhaka Collegiate School. Later he became a magistrate.

Indigo commission of l860 was his contribution. Establishment and modernizing educational institutes including Presidency college, Mahomedan Literary Society, Rajshahi Madrasah was his work. His intention was to narrow down the difference among Hindu, Muslim and British. Got nomited for appointment as a member of the Bengal Legislative Council in 1862. He also worked for better use of the Mohsin fund. In 1880 he was awarded title Nawab and Nawab Bahadur in 1887 by the British.
