NTRAMS (National Training and Research Academy for Multilingual Shorthand) an autonomous institution established in 1982 to impart training and research in the field of Business Management. Located at Fultola, Bogra, the institute is attached to the Ministry of Education. In 1992 the Government framed the 'NTRAMS code' to run the academy effectively.



NTRAMS offers training to officials and employees of governmental, autonomous and non-governmental organisations relating to human resource development and office management, and also offers computer training. Major courses of the Academy include the Diploma-in-Commerce and Certificate (Business Management). The Academy was initially established on the basis of the innovation of Multilingual Shorthand for English, Bengali and Arabic language by the founder Director Md Abdul Mannan Sarker. Now it provides computer training to government and non-government officials and employees. The academy is also authorized to give registration/affiliation to regional institutes for expanding multilingual shorthand and to conduct active research for its development.

The NTRAMS campus has a functional block, which consists of office buildings, dormitories, a cafeteria, a lecture theatre, a conference room, and a library. The other facilities include a mosque, a medical centre, a departmental store, and a field for games and sports.

The academy is headed by the director who has the status of a Joint Secretary to the Government. The faculty of NTRAMS is composed of qualified and experienced personnel and are from various disciplines. The 14 member Board of Governors, is headed by the Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Education.

The academy has established a local area network (LAN) with 300 computers. These computers are now in extensive use for training, research and administrative purpose. Since July 1989 the academy has offered computer training to about 1600 participants. NTRAMS publishes books, guides, research reports, case studies and training materials. It has so far published about 40 books. The Academy also organizes seminars and workshops on various aspects of national and international importance in order to explore and exchange views and ideas among administrators, trainers, policy makers, researchers and management practitioners.
