Phulpur Upazila (mymensingh district) with an area of 580.21 sq km, is bounded by haluaghat and dhobaura upazilas on the north, mymensingh sadar upazila on the south, gauripur and purbadhala upazilas on the east, nakla upazila on the west. Main rivers are Kharia and Kangsha.

Phulpur (Town) consists of 6 mouzas. The town has a population of 12292; male 52.63%, female 47.37%; literacy rate among the town people is 36.7%.

Administration Phulpur thana was turned into an upazila in 1983. The upazila consists of 20 union parishads, 377 mouzas and 411 villages.

Historical events During the War of Liberation in 1971 the Pak army arrested nine Bangalees along with Satyendranath Datta, the then Head Master of the Payari High School and took them to the Sarsapur mass killing site. The Pak army killed everybody except the Head Master who could manage to escape. In a battle between the Muktibahini and the Pak army at village Ramsona of Sandhara union 33 members of the Muktibahini were killed.

Hats, bazars and fairs Hats and bazars are 55, most noted are Amuakandha, Tarakandha, Balia, Bhaitkandhi and Kashiganj.

Main exports Rice, wheat, onion and garlic.
